Palmetto Animal Hospital provides comprehensive services for dogs and cats, with a focus on wellness and preventive care. Regular and consistent wellness exams contribute to early detection and aggressive treatment for illness and injury, as well as giving pets a distinct advantage for a longer, more vigorous life.
Our Wellness programs are specifically tailored to the needs of your pet and include:
In addition, regular dental care is important to ongoing health. Our modern and safe ultrasonic scaling system thoroughly cleans each tooth above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth for a smooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup, and fluoride treatments strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Pet Dental Services also include a complimentary bag of T/D treats.
Services at Palmetto Animal Hospital include all areas of internal medicine, such as:
Our level of professional expertise means your pet receives veterinary care that is based on the newest research and veterinary protocols.
Our surgery patients experience the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. We offer fully trained veterinary and technical staff, heated surgery tables, advanced sterilization techniques, full blood testing, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors, and intensive care post-surgery. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Our veterinary staff also includes a board-certified orthopedic surgeon available for procedures once a month.
Diagnostics include non-invasive, state-of-the-art ultrasound technology. This specialized equipment uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. It is especially safe and effective for pregnancy exams, when the use of standard radiology would be potentially dangerous. And our pre- and post-surgical pain management program is based on a philosophy of humane treatment and compassionate care for all animals.
We are pleased to introduce our newest specialized services at the hospital: Physical therapy and hyperthyroid treatment.
Physical therapy is a useful therapeutic tool to help relieve pain and restore range of motion. Physical therapy can be used to help patients with orthopedic injuries, arthritis, obesity, degenerative joint disease, and even after surgical procedures.
Hyperthyroid treatment puts an end to a lifetime of daily medications, monthly blood panels, and possible surgery for your cat, because it cures feline hyperthyroidism with one injection. The injection is called radioactive Iodine 131 and is administered on a Monday morning. Your feline companion will be monitored in the hospital until Wednesday afternoon as a safety precaution. Once you pick up your pet, there are only a few simple steps to follow for the next few days.
